There are some hints and heads up's that you should be aware of...If you get sickand your stomach feels bad, take a few sipps of tea or water, then eat a saltine or unsweetened biscuit immediately. Try to drink tea, if you have an excited stomach, increased fluids, or having convulsions. Tee reduces cramps and calms an agitated stomach. It also contains potassium, which is often propagated in liquid output. Signs of dehydration include dry mouth, dry skin, thick stools, disconnected urination, and dizziness Drink sufficient amount of liquid , especially water. Important! Food must be eaten slowly! Food should be very well chewed! Avoid big meals! Meals should be regulary! Do not forget to hydrate enough! Have an extra pouching system with you always. Never keep ileostomy accessories in the glove compartment of your car. Extreme heat or cold will damage the bag, the skin barriers and the wafers adhesive. If you travel, wear your Ileostomy accessories with you always. Keep them within easy reach. If you need ileostomy accessories while traveling, look in the yellow pages of telephone book under "Surgical Accessories. ", Or call the local Ileostomy organization to know where care is available. Every time you empty your bag, carefully clean the opening of the bag, both inside and outside, with toilet paper. Rinse your pocket a few times a day, after you empty it. Add your pocket deodorant. Use air deodorizers in your bathroom. |
